Good Morning Macon Pilots and Tenants,
Runway 5/23 will remain open tomorrow for the entire day with no closure. Going forward the FAA-owned NavAids on runway 5/23 will be turned off. This includes the runway end identifier lights on runway 23, the PAPIs for runway 23, the ILS for runway 5/23, and the approach lighting for runway 5. This is in preparation for the extension of runway 5/23.
Additionally, the tentativeย date for the runway 5/23 extension construction to begin is Monday 3/18/24. With this construction, you can expect runway 5/23 to be closed for extended periods of time, due to construction occurring inside the safety area.
